“Don't let anyone dull your sparkle."

Amber Walder is a newborn & family photographer and educator, based in eastern South Dakota. She has a wonderful husband, four wild children, and two fur-babies. As a mother, her passion for photography really grew after the birth of her second child. While soaking in as much photography-related information as she could, she tried to capture each and every moment of their fleeting childhood. Eventually, she decided she wanted to offer that for other families as well. So in 2013, while also working as a nurse at the local hospital, she opened Amber Walder Photography. In 2018 she retired from nursing, purchased a studio space and decided to pursue photography full time. She hasn’t looked back since! In the last ten years, she has photographed hundreds of families & babies, as well as mentored other photographers along their newborn & family photography journey.
