Join us in Wisconsin.

September 13–14, 2025 | Driftless Region, Wisconsin
An unforgettable photography workshop set in one of the Midwest’s best-kept secrets: the Driftless Area. Unlike much of the surrounding region, this land was untouched by glaciers, leaving behind a raw, wild landscape of deep ravines, exposed bedrock, and rolling hills. It's a place made for artists who crave depth, nature, and quiet inspiration.

Spicer Family Session

Meet the Spicer Family — Leah, her husband, and their three children are the heartbeat of a truly special place tucked into the hills of Spring Green, Wisconsin. This is no ordinary property — it's a multi-generational haven where gardens overflow with seasonal bounty, animals roam freely, and creativity is woven into every corner. Leah and her family live deeply and boldly. From running beloved local restaurants to designing and handcrafting beautiful clothing and goods, they are creative entrepreneurs through and through. Their life is rooted in intention, slowness, and connection — with nature, with community, and with each other.

They’re the kind of family who spends the afternoon kayaking down the river, barefoot in the garden, or dreaming up their next venture together. It’s no surprise their home feels more like a storybook than a setting — one full of texture, light, and meaning.

Raudonis Family Session

Meet the Raundonis Family — Mari Trancoso, a fellow photographer and mother, will be the heart of this session as we document her beautifully blended family on a dreamy farm in Cazenovia. She and her husband Daniel—an environmentalist with a deep love for the outdoors—are raising a uniquely connected family, each bringing a boy and girl of their own into their shared life, along with their infant daughter, Prairie.
Their story unfolds on a piece of land that feels like magic—designed in the 1970s by a Swedish architect, this property is a tribute to Scandinavian heritage, filled with winding creeks, deep ravines, a peaceful pond, and a bold red barn marked with a traditional Scandinavian barn quilt. It’s a childlike wonderland, and the perfect backdrop for a family so deeply in tune with nature.

THE HOSTS:

 LEAD Instructor

Allie Clarke

Midwest-born and raised, Allie Clarke is a photographer and educator passionate about capturing what’s true and real. She thrives on documenting the often-overlooked moments of everyday family life — the kind of honest,  memories we’d regret not preserving.

Allie’s work is rooted in storytelling. Whether photographing her own family or her clients, she seeks out the beauty in everyday life, crafting images rich with detail and emotion — keepsakes for generations to come.

This summer, Allie will be traveling to Scandinavia, soaking in the simplicity, warmth, and natural beauty of the region. She’s beyond excited to bring that fresh wave of inspiration home to the Norfolk Workshop — and infuse it into every part of the experience.
UNRAVELED co-creator

Melissa Lane

Melissa is a photographer, educator, and co-creator of Unraveled Academy, with deep roots in Wisconsin’s Driftless Region. A proud Wisconsin native, she has hosted Unraveled events around the world — from the beaches of Australia to the mountaintops of Banff — but bringing this experience home is something truly special.

Melissa’s love for Scandinavian culture and design runs deep — so much so that she married a Swedish-born immigrant and dreams of one day living in Sweden. Hosting this workshop in a landscape that reflects her heritage is a full-circle moment, and she’s thrilled to share it with you.

At her core, Melissa believes photography is about honoring others. In an industry that often centers the photographer and feeds the ego, she’s passionate about shifting the focus back to what truly matters: the people, the stories, and the beauty of real life. Her approach is grounded, soulful, and rooted in genuine connection — values she brings to every session and every student she teaches.

THE NORFOLK WORKSHOP

This workshop is about more than technique — it's about slowing down, embracing intention, and connecting deeply with your creative voice. Come to be inspired. Leave with renewed clarity, beautiful images, and lasting community.
